The problem with getting down to doing some writing on a laptop or desktop computer is that there are so many distractions, from email to social networks to the huge expanse of the Web. Hemingwrite is a digital typewriter that solves the problem, giving you a plain e-ink screen that allows you to do nothing but write. It's still got some modern features — such as the ability to connect to Wi-Fi and sync your work — but the idea is that it lets you power through your next novel without being tempted to flick around between browser tabs or fire up a game. Thanks to the integrated carrying handle you can take it anywhere you like and of course an e-paper screen is much easier to read in bright sunlight (it also helps up the battery life to around four weeks).
The Hemingwrite has already hit its funding goal on Kickstarter but you can still order one for $369 (£235) or more
