The Most Stylish Apple Watch Accessories

white-gold-watch
One of the biggest complaints about the Apple Watch is that it’s simply not stylish enough — not for serious watch connoisseurs who might spend money to see what it’s all about, and particularly not by the fashion world (despite Apple’s aggressive courting). But that doesn’t mean Apple isn’t trying to market it to fashionistas across the globe.
Any tech accessory company paying the slightest bit of attention should see the benefit of producing accessories to glam up the watch. Many have tried — Brikk, perhaps, went a bit too far – but there are a few, including some of Apple’s own design, that hit the right notes.
The watch’s removeable strap offers perhaps the best opportunity for accessory companies to cash in on Apple’s newest toy. Designed By Many’s Banded Classic straps are some of the sleekest, least “techie” looking options out there. In addition to Designed By Many, countless others are offering personalized straps. While nothing else reads particularly as high-end so far, it’s only a matter of time until various leather and precious metal options become available.
The Nomad Stand
Stands seem to be where most other companies are putting their money – and hope you will, too. Also from Designed By Many, the Simple Station is a no-fuss way to dock both an iPhone 5 or 6 and an Apple Watch. The aerospace aluminum is a stylish addition to Apple’s minimalist design, and will be available in black or silver.
The Nomad Stand ($60) comes in Space Grey or Silver, is a sleek, minimalist charging stand, that allows owners to easily view the watch in bed or at a work station. It features a copper alloy base for added weight and security, and non-slip, high friction rubber footing. It will support all versions of the Apple Watch.
The Nomad Pod ($60), which also comes in silver and space grey, is a portable charger that not only charges the Apple Watch, but can charge virtually any USB powered electronic device, by plugging into its integrated Type A and Type C USB ports. For the Apple Watch, the 1,800 mAh rechargeable battery is expected to provide four full charges. Both the pod and the stand are available for pre-order on Nomad’s website.
The CyClip
Finally, Studio Proper, an Australian company, will start shipping a protective travel case, ($59.99) that also acts as a charging dock, in May 2015. The case comes in “bespoke” dark or tan leather in a simple, no-fuss design. Underneath the charging dock, there is integrated MagSafe “cable management,” or a space to organize the watch’s cables when you’re on-the-go. If a travel case isn’t your speed, Studio Proper promises there’s more to come in their line of Apple Watch accessories.
